Mobile Phone Carrier Poll

May 03, 2006 00:53

T-mobile / my phone's been getting really frustrating. It's either my phone, or the service, or both. I have absolutely no reception anywhere unless I stand in the middle of an intersection or something. Really, I have no reception in the apartment, even when I hold the phone up out in the balcony. And when I run out of the building, it takes ( Read more... )

I know EXACTLY what you mean! I'm not getting ANY reception in my dorm room either! The phone doesn't even RING and I can't make any calls whenever I'm in my room (which is why I've had to use SkypeOut to make phone calls lately)!

Personally, I'm going with Cingular when my contract expires this August, since everyone else who has it here doesn't have as many problems making phone calls.

Apprently you guys are not even aware of Cingular. ANdrew, I really do strongly suggest that you keep with Tmobile and get yourself a decent phone. Either SE T610 (old, yet still reliable) or a new phone that will last a couple more years like any SE(Sony Ericssons) or Nokia.

Cingular:
-Since the merge they are having networkproblems w/ upgrades and so.
-I'm having dropped calls, poor/no reception, and just wacked out connections.
-Not my phone problem. K750i
-Too damn expensive! COst $$

Tmobile:
-Average better then Cingular at the time since Cingular doesn't know how to manage their networks.
-Cost $
-Will edit more on this part...

Verizon:
-Better connection, can't garrentee your dorm reception.
-Cost $$$

Sleep on it, but yeah its all about the phone, then the provider.

After the last comment, I dont know. I use Cingular, and it does seem that I do get more dropped calls lately. I never had any before. But I enjoy Cingular and they advertise the fact that they get the least dropped calls....ironically.

And I hardly consider the T610 "old, but reliable". I've had it for the past two years, and the cell phone actually CRASHES/freezes up sometimes. It also lags a lot too. I'm SO looking forward to getting a different phone to replace my T610.
