Only reason I've gone back to using livejournal is out of utter boredom. Which is sad, quite frankly. I've been diagnosed with clinical depression caused by a sleep disorder. They think it's Apnea, but it wouldn't surprise me if I've been mis-diagnosed by the NHS (that's National Health Service ... not National Honor Society).

amazon.com does suck. I don't even do their affiliate thing anymore you cna sell thousands of dollars worth of stuff and get next to nothing in return, it's ridiculous.

Sorry to hear about the depression. I've gone through that and I know how it is.

As far as malware, ugh. I spent 8 hours last year trying to fix a friend's computer and miraculously did it without having to format. Never again. Ugh indeed.

I've had far less problems with malware since switching to Firefox, just it's not as well integrated as Internet Explorer, although I'm sure mozilla are working on it.

I might even take the plunge and switch from XP to linux. Not sure yet.

You need to be a *very* patient person to switch to linux. A lot of hardware is designed to only work with windows, and normally the only way to find out is actually do it.

I wasn't thinking of going with the geeky open source free stuff, but perhaps purchasing a more user friendly version that I've seen available. They seem to have ones between £20-80. But yeah, certain windows only software and hardware are gonna hiccup.

Well, if you're waking up every 40 minutes, you never get any deep sleep, it's all REM. You wake up feeling as tired as when you went to bed, and then head out and travel, work and so on.
