I am glad to see there are some nice people still in this world. I think you did the right thing. If his dad couldn't see that he is blind to everyone else's feelings but his own. Also he shouldn't have left the kid there by himself. There is too much crap happening in this world to leave your kid by themselves. Just remember that the father will get his dues, what goes around comes around. So don't feel bad you did nothing wrong.
