On Religious Events

I read yesterday on the BBC news website that the Archbishop of Canterbury and Pope Benedict XVI are in talks to bring the two churches together. I am Anglican/Episcopal and this upsets me greatly. There is a reason that I am not Catholic and the Episcopalian church suits my needs to that end.

Is this a general feel in the Episcopalian church, do you know? The only person I know who is even remotely attached to that faith is no longer on my list of people whom I'd prefer to be speaking, so I cannot ask. On one hand I feel that there isn't going to be much reverberation in the provincial Episcopalian Churches, since this was specifically designed to give disenfranchised Anglicans a place where they're still part of the Church but in an organization where their views are more the norm.

On the other hand, is this a way for the Pope to shoehorn in and bring back millions of people into the fold?
