Muddle brain then build on ice

The brains ability to absorb information fascinates me. When I was younger I used to be able to remember phone numbers from hearing or seeing them once. Then, one day I decided I didn’t want to do that anymore and stopped. I currently only know five phone numbers by heart. That would be my own home and cell, my husband’s cell and my two ex-husbands ( Read more... )

A handful of the Xanth Novels. They don't take long and they're pure punful decadence. ;~)

And thank you! The last line came from thoughts provoked by your latest blog post.

I used to eat Xanth alive. :-) I've given them up, but I still love the Incarnations of Immortality.

Did you ever read the Adept series (that isn't really what it was called)?

If it's the Apprentice Adept series, I've read Split Infinity, but it's the only one I own. I may have read some of the others, but I can't remember. Here's a list of what's in that:
Split Infinity, Blue Adept, Juxtaposition, Out of Phaze, Robot Adept, Unicorn Point, Phaze Doubt.

I LOVE the Incarnations of Immortality. I own many of them and they are almost as loved "dogeared" as the Xanth novels. Some of my all time favorite quotes come from Anthony Novels. I'm hoping that Bookmans (a very classy reseller of used books and other odd bits) will open a new store in the west valley. Currently, the nearest Bookmans is over an hour drive away. I miss the handled booked smell and the overstuffed chairs.

At the moment I’m reading Heaven Cent instead of vacuuming or folding laundry or writing a post about the 1st Amendment vs. a True Threat. After I read this and two more Xanth novels I’ll be moving on to the up-teenth reading of the Incarnation books. I wonder when I’m due to travel east next…

I've often mused that we actually retain everything that we see, though we don't store it in a easily retrievable form.

So it's sort of like everything is there, except it's all on old-school reel to reel.

I like the analogy. ;~) I'm still okay at replaying sounds. So if a police officer asks how many shots did I hear or if my bartending instructor asks us how many times he shook the margarita - I just replay and count. lol. Or maybe that's just my OCD...
