Krista's to-do List

May 09, 2010 22:37

Hey there... Here's my to-do list.  I had a blog that was centred around this list.  Some things are subject to change - I think I'm becoming les of a packrat.

It's under the cut:

Act in a movie, TV show, play, musical… ahh, I can imagine it now. (The fact that I can imagine it doesn’t mean much; I can also imagine myself jumping on a trampoline high enough to reach escape velocity, but that’s not going to happen cause I’m afraid of heights.)

Travel to places with culture and beauty.  Bring a camera and keep a travel journal, but only write or take pictures when I feel like it. Pack lightly. Hike through somewhere, maybe the rainforest or stunning mountains or fjords.  (Not ridiculously treacherous, just to the extent of having to sleep in a tent and wear practical clothes and carry everything with you.) See pretty things like northern lights, solar eclipse, Spaceship launch, etc.  Sleep under the stars, take a shower under a waterfall, live by the sea or visit a lot.

Kiss in the pouring rain, dance in the rain or just like live in the moment like as if no one’s watching.  Or put the dancing in the rain into my vlog.  I think I just contradicted myself there..

Maybe live abroad for a while - a co-op or internship in Europe?  Germany, or Iceland, or anywhere pretty and interesting. (Is Iceland still one of the world leaders in renewable energy?  Well, when they stop)

Remember people’s names.  Be observant in general.  Relax and make myself comfortable in whatever situation I find myself in.

Keep making an effort to be closer to my friends, as well as continuing to be helpful not selfish. Have conversations late into the night with fascinating people.

Slackrope walking.

Create and follow a budget. Save some money.

Get in shape and flexible: exercise and stretch and eat well (Small portion sizes, savor every bite, don’t eat while watching TV etc.)

Skating: go for it, do jumps and spins and skate fast Gold interpretive, gold dances.  Spend a long time training or preparing for something (say a half marathon or a skating competition) and then follow through with awesomeness.

Control: Make sure I always sing in tune (play flute a bit…practice for singing Poisoning Pigeons in the Park.) and practice pointe sometimes, hopefully with a purpose like maybe the talent show.  Do a ballet dance with lifts, or at least ballet/modern/something.

Be a good girlfriend. Learn to cook because well it’s very lopsided right now cause he can cook and i can’t, and plan things too.

Don’t be materialistic of packratty: get to the point where I can bring in my backpack what I need and not feel the need to come back here because I don’t feel materialistic and because I am so organized with packing all my little bits and rechargers and stuff.  If I had a big coat with tons of pockets.  (When I succeed at this, make a facebook group (or just blog about one) called something like “I stay at my boyfriend’s place so often that I probably wouldn’t notice if my apartment was turned into a chinese restaurant” (only a little bit cleverer.))

Start a webcomic. Plan ahead, and be way far ahead in the story to give myself leeway to travel or be busy one day or to change something earlier on in the story if/when I write myself into a corner.  Ideally: make somebody laugh and/or cry.

Fly a plane.  As of now I can’t justify it at all, but occasionally daydream about it.

Plan something like maybe a well organized interesting-themed party with my friends.

Hygiene and cleaning: floss every day, brush at least twice a day. Wash my face every night, moisturize. If I do this for a month, then I’ll consider it “done.”  Put things away first thing when I get home (coat, backpack.)

Be good for the environment: Make the effort to compost, buy stuff with less packaging, print on the other side of paper, and maybe when I’m old live off-the-grid.

When I’m about 30-ish, get married and have 2 kids.

Miscellaneous maybes: Learn to speak mandarin? Learn to write with my left hand? Send in a postsecret or send postcards to strangers?  Try playing flute in the cold like in Memoirs of a Geisha (do that in winter or fall.)?
