Things are peachy!

Heh, it's been a while... again.  I guess I just suck at this.   Silence mostly means that everything is same ol', same ol'.  Not that "same ol', same ol'" is anything less than fantastic at this point.  :)

Just as a note to those of you in the bay area, we'll be driving through on the 20th - not sure how much time we'll have to see people, but if ( Read more... )

Haha, you moved to a new office. That explains the phone call I got last week from a woman at a yoga studio looking for you guys. She said she'd tried one of the phone numbers and it had been disconnected. Luckily, I remembered a different number and gave it to her. Then I had the fun of mentioning, off-hand, that I hadn't worked for the company in about two years. She apologized a lot. I didn't mind at all - it was just funny that I could still help her.

Where'd you guys move to?

Some new buildings on Broad & Tank Farm, it's a pretty nice place.

The phone numbers on our website all should still work (mindbodyonline.com).

Yeah, she was calling the 0800 number. I gave her the 4279 number, because we've had that one since I started working there in 2001, so I figured it would still be active.

Ooh, and now you're even closer to Froggie's. I love me a bagel with lemon pepper and cucumber.

Office moves stink. I only know that as I've supported them in the past, but I haven't been in any just yet (the theory is that I won't have to until at least 2008). Hopefully you got a larger facility and a better network out of the deal. Oh, and more parking. :)

Broad and Tank Farm... is Great Wall Chinese still in the Marigold Center? Mmmmm... Chinese. And that donut place we went to after I broke my arm, of course.

Is it supposed to be the case that software development companies have sucky IT staff?

It seriously took my officemate a day and a half to get a license key for SQL Compare...and it's not like they just didn't get back to her or that there was an issue with license compliance (her system had been re-imaged about a month ago).

And phew...their images suck pretty bad too. My laptop, a Pentium M, had the Plugged In profile in power management (which controls SpeedStep in XP) set to the best battery performance.
