A long chapter of Consumed

Is it a prerequisite that at least one guy at the coffeeshop has to be cute? Or do we just find boys that serve us appealing? There's a hottie at my coffeeshop too.

It sucks that that happens, where all that the people in the billing department see are the invoices saying they are owed money and don't recognize that it's actual people. They never met the patient so the don't know about the hardships of the person, it's just a piece of paper to them. Anyway, I can sympathize, I see it or something similar all the time.

So, anyway, tell us what he said.

You know, I really need to go back and read all of Consumed. I've been lazy about reading fics lately and now I'm all confused about what's going on.

He stopped on his way out (he was getting off his shift) and I'd been sitting there for about an hour or so writing, and he said goodnight, then stopped and asked if I was studying or just plain writing. When I told him just plain writing, he nodded, smiled, started to walk off, then came back and asked if I was attempting the great American novel. When I laughed and said "something like that," he wished me luck and went on his merry way. Short, but cute. Well, both the exchange AND the man, for that matter.

Oh my gosh, that totally screams interested. He kept almost leaving and then coming back? Oh yeah, screams it.

See, and I guess I just don't ever "get" those sorts of things because I don't... ever get them. I'm the girl that watches other girls get flirted with. Or better yet, the girl who the guys approach just to get closer to my friends. Yeesh.
