i have heard so much new music in the past two days, and its all brilliant! some of the bands i'd heard of before, but ive just heard new songs by them. its great. really inspiring

I have Napster at uni and I've been listening to a lot of these too. They're all on Jack Johnson's label and therefore similar styles of music. I've also been listening to lots of...
-Chris Thomas King (...who is a modern blues artist) -Josh Rouse (...if you like Matt Costa or Damien Rice you'll probably like Josh Rouse) -Jools Holland (...quite random, don't know why i started listening to his stuff) -Paul Weller (...from The Jam, quite like his solo stuff) -The Von Bondies (...sound like a cross between the Subways and the White Stripes)
But you're right, it's great finding new music, or stuff you thought you wouldn't like which actually turns out to be really good. Or even older albums by artists you already like and seeing what they used to be like. The only trouble is it gets expensive when you start buying CDs...
But Jack Johnson is my pick from all the above. His stuff is great.
yeah i saw matt coasta when i went to see jack johnson....i cant remember the name of the other band who were supporting....may be osamti something. im not sure. but yeah brushfire records is awesome.....donovan frankenreiter and g.love are from there as well. quite a lot of them are from saddle-creek records which is another brilliant label, you should check it out, thir website is pretty nifty too (saddle-creek.com)
