I'm almost a month late with this, but oh well. My great aunt turned 80 in October. Her daughter Mary, my dad's cousin, arranged a surprise birthday party which included having her relatives from California and Utah fly to Oregon to see her. Pretty big surprise.
Picture post.
Jeff and on the plane. We flew Alaska Airlines.
Oregon is green. And has crazy trees. This one was in front of some random building.
We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Tigard, Oregon.
Our room was on the 8th floor. My uncle Paul (car show uncle) and his family were on the 6th floor.
My brother and I shared this hotel room.
From left to right, my cousin Colin, Jeff, my cousin Jason, and my brother Orin. We threw paper airplanes from the 9th floor of the Embassy Suites. Here, some strategic paper airplane planning.
THE LAUNCH.
My pathetic effort at throwing one. Notice the airplane in the plants.
Frantic repair to paper airplanes in the elevator on the way back up to the 9th floor.
OMG PAPER AIRPLANES.
The view from the backyard of Mary and Jay's house in Oregon.
Brushing my teeth in the hotel.
My great aunt Gloria at dinner at Typhoon's, a Thai restaurant in Oregon. That's her birthday fried banana.
Orin got a fried banana, but I told him that in this picture he wasn't making an "I'm eating a fried banana" face.
So he made one.
My dad and me at Typhoon's.
My cousin Colin and Jeff. My favorite picture of the whole trip.
Jeff and I at Typhoon's.
We give each other that look a lot, I think. :-P
Group photo!
A goofy group photo.
