Croup: Day Two

Time in the ICU has done wonders for Zaire's breathing. Yesterday he had 7 or 8 treatments of the racemic epi and by the last one he was jittery and twitching while asleep, his heart rate was in the high 170s and I was terrified of a seizure and catastophic system failure. Surprisingly, once he switched to the continuous epi his heart rate slowed

Aww, poor baby and poor you! That is one serious attack of croup. Kieran only had one attack that bad, and I wasn't there at the time. That was the worst, not being there and not being on top of what was happening. The rest of his croups spontaneously got better by the time he got to the hospital. I swear the docs thought we were crazy.
