Better and better? m03m February 4 2012, 19:23:42 UTC
Sorry, but removing features, that I used, from the comment box (like preview, subject line and quote) does not improve my user experience at all. Neither did it make anything 'better and better'.

Plus, it's ugly as sin. I'm decidedly underwhelmed. And that's non-negitiable. :-P

Our product roadmap places “improved user experience” as the force that drives us every day toward our goals.

You really have an utterly bizarre way of showing it. Visually impaired users can't use the new interface at all, photosensitive people can use it to varying degrees though some of them can't use it all, people who aren't bothered by those issues have trouble navigating it or even loading it, a lot of people from all those demographics are only able to use it with user-end modifications, and your handling of it all makes many feel belittled. You've nuked the user experience for a huge number of your users rather than improved it. What you've done is diametrically opposed to your stated goal ( ... )

Personally, I think everyone is being a big baby about this. Keep up the good work, LJ. So glad to see you are moving forward with some great improvements. Don't let these cry babies hold you back! They'll get used to it! (Plus, most of them are nerdy fanfic people. Who cares about them?! Let them go start their own blog site. Oh, yeah, it's called DreamWidth. They can all go hang out there.) Can't wait to see what changes are in store for 2012, LJ! Let me know if I can be of any help. I'd be happy to be of assistance. :)

Yes, I know when your first journal started, because one of the prerequisites for being a nerdy fanfic person is basic literacy.

Yes, the people getting migraines thanks to the new layout are just being babies about it. They should suck it up and not care that LJ has shown no inclination to even acknowledge that there might be a problem.

Interesting to find out how many Supercommunities there will be. I think it is probably a good idea, I always thought some geographical communities would make sense too.

I love how you don't even address the fact that you told existing users they don't matter teh_killer_chef February 17 2012, 18:51:18 UTC
for real, where's our fucking apology for that?
