Alright so things have been definitely amazing, strange, confusing and everything in between since I got back home. Biggest thing first that probably more than a few people have heard me ranting about is I'm getting a car YEEHAW!! dude, you are falling into the import (by import i mean japanese) void of despair. I hate to be blunt here, but u gotta quit thinking about late 90's japanese cars. thay have all been duds for you so far... sorry. not to mention it is rather cliche, and over commercialized by certain video games which i don't even need to mention. As an alternative, try looking for something european such as bmw, audi, or VW. All of these cars have excellent models spanning through the 80's, so there would probably quite a few you can find. Also, since the car would stay in texas, it would be ok to get a rear wheel drive car. Jeff, this is just my advice and i kno you are desperately looking for a car, so keep looking... you will find something good.
