Looking back over the years, I'm glad I've grown out of my "OMG ANIME MANGA SUPER KAWAII JAPANESE RULES" phase. I do have a love for it, but I'm just glad I'm not obsessed as I was before. I just realized how there's too many oddballs interested in such things. And I mean, oddballsP.S. Nick Swardson & Lil Wayne are on the island. Wish they'd stop ( Read more... )

This. It happened here few years back and I was lucky I was way out of that state by that time. Now I find people adore those things to extremes hard to communicate and I would not dare to mention anything about anime/manga in front of them...Also, it's getting to a level that I feel annoyed by people who think Japan as a perfect country because manga/anime says so. Yea, I think it's just everything overall. Hardcore music artist fans all the way to videogame fans. I think sometimes people take themselves too seriously that it gets annoying and ridiculous...

I feel the same way. Still like all the cutesy Asian things, but I can't take being in a fandom where people just get defenseless over everything. VIDEOGAME/ANIME/MANGA CHARACTERS AREN'T REAL. MUSIC ARTIST AREN'T GOING TO BE YOUR SPOUSES. D:

Haha, I'm a bit nerdy myself, but I don't take things into the extreme like most fans do. I mean, I guess that's why they have hardcore fans for a reason.

And it does get tiring hearing people say they know more about Japan/Korea/China/(enter in SOME Asian country here) more than me or anyone else for that matter. Like I care?

WTF@that quote, lol.
