Who wrote Gnomenreigen? I have heard the Mephisto-Waltz (is that Liszt?). Anyway thanks for the suggestions!

:) Thanks, I have another really pretty one I finished a while ago too that I need to post (called "Winter Ballade" it's mostly in the Dorian mode and sounds very much like snowflakes and cozy fires to me). I am also working on "Fall Ballade" and possibly a "Spring Ballade" and a wedding piece for my friend using mainly organ, strings, and flute.

Haha I can't spell "Toccata" lol. I have wanted to hear Mahler for a while but I haven't gotten around to him. Often with new music I just need suggestions like you gave so I can find the good stuff.

On a different note I think I will get to take a Music Theory class next semester which is exciting, and possibly even a one hour piano course. I may however try to get a master's in linguistics however before trying to get a music degree (so that might be a year or two from now still).

I can't wait to hear it as I very much enjoy dorian mode, snowflakes and cozy fires. Ah, the grand tripartite of Winter, hehe ( ... )

I have been most interested in the University of Alaska Fairbanks, I'd like to work on language documentation with the native people there. I thought if I had my master's I could get a job teaching or something and then fund music endeavors of some sort. I'd probably slightly prefer doing music now but I could only afford to do that at NKU and right now I feel like I want to go live somewhere far away for a while (I was even looking at Norway's University of Tromso, the furthest north university in the world, but that probably isn't likely. Their grad program is actually taught in English though). At least at this point in my life I could get funding for grad schools and no one is going to pay me to be an undergrad again.
