'When you saved her, you saved me too. Thank you.'

Today I met with lacewood, rei_kurasaki and amandes (who sweetly turned up at my last-minute request) to catch The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (the live-action series AAA I meant the movie, thanks narugami!).

I recommend that you not go to watch it, especially if you watched the anime!movie and loved it.

ANYWAY! As promised and discussed during dinner:

Hark! A Vagrant Yuletide ( Read more... )

recs, assassin's creed, hark! a vagrant, rl, movies, white collar

Oh dear, that doesn't sound good. I still haven't watched The Girl Who Leapt Through Time - was the tv series that bad?

Oh oh oh my apologies, it was a live-action movie. Do watch the anime!movie - you might like that, I think.

The movie: urgh, depressing ending, and I felt there wasn't much meaning or purpose to what the characters went through (other than purpose of bringing MORE MISERY). What promise there was wasn't delivered on - there are hints of a Possible Backstory (we get nothing) - I thought that was the worst part, really. Depressing endings can be fitting, this one just felt... largely pointless.

Four of us watched this show (all very different people) and we ALL were sadface about the entire thing.

Twenty minutes (into the two hour show) I remember thinking, "I have a bad feeling that rewatching Tangled would bring me more joy than this."

Sadly this is not the steamy Brigand/Nemesis hatesex fic both [info]rei_kurasaki and I (and I suspect a few of you, if you read Hark! A Vagrant) want
SERIOUSLY. Yuletide delivered unexpectedly wonderful things this year, as it does, but some things that seem like dead certainties didn't get written! *sighing, rereads Old Spice Guy/Beowulf to cheer up*

THERE IS A BLACK ABYSS WHERE THE NEMESIS!HATESEX FIC OUGHT TO BE. ;)

I agree with you completely!

... OLD SPICE GUY AND WH - is it worth reading? If so, might I have a link? *___*

Oops, this might be less exciting than it sounded - I forgot to put "crossover" in that sentence. The fic is Old Spice Guy in the style of Beowulf; unfortunately he doesn't get the chance to make out with Beowulf (although now that the idea's out there: OTP). It's sort of not different at all from the ad, and sort of utterly magnificent.

It's all good! It's kind of pretty awesome as it is! :) Thanks for the link, much appreciated! ♥ ALSO HAPPY NEW YEAR. ♥

I AM ON A HORSE: HOW HILARIOUS.

I dispatched a missive by post to your abode in mid-December, may it arrive safely! (Not sure if the postal service has settled down enough to get it there yet, but it should get there eventually!)

I ... will not lie; I've been READING AS MANY LJ POSTS AS MY EYES CAN TAKE OTL.

Also, above-mentioned movie needs future-fic where multiple fix-its happen, just saying. IT IS BEING A COCKTEASE re: emotional satisfaction! I sadface at it DDDDD:

I liked bits of the movie! I liked the dorkery and the dumb and ... basically nothing of the time-travelling plot and everything of the romance orzzzzzzz. I NOW WANT TO WRITE FIC WHERE THEY DORK AROUND WATCHING CARTOONS FROM THAT ERA AND SHE ROFLS AND HE WATCHES HER ROFL AND FALLS IN LOVE A LITTLE MORE.

Ahem. Yes. I may or may not be a little sappy, why do you ask?

I wanted them to meet up in the cherry blossom grove of 2010 even though he was 56 and she was a student! And for her mom to make NO PROTEST whatsoever re. the May-December romance because she UNDERSTANDS TIME-TRAVEL LOVE.

WE ARE BOTH SAPS, IT'S WHY WE ARE FRIENDS. WELL, PART OF THE REASON ANYWAY.

Dresden/Marcone slash /die

BUT THE QUESTION IS thelovemafia January 3 2011, 03:54:22 UTC
ARE YOU ENJOYING IT :D

Dresden/Marcone is by far the most popular. I personally go for Thomas/Harry (yes, I know, I know). Butters/Harry exists also.

And because Bob was played as a ghostly human in the Dresden TV series, the TV series resulted in a lot of Bob/Harry. (Don't think Marcone and Thomas appeared in the TV series).

I was all for Thomas/Harry until the ton of revelations about Thomas, lols. Same as Michael/Harry. So that leaves Kincaid and Marcone.

Butters is just weird. I can't respect anyone who is a polka maniac.

What! He's cooler as a talking skull. T_T

Sadly I read book 6 first, and I was all, "TOTALLY SLASHABLE - OH WAIT SIBLINGS - oh wait that is not a problem in my book". Oops.

If not for the siblings thing, Thomas/Harry would absolutely be the most popular, I think. Well, I think so. Supernaturally hot sex vampire / main character. \O/

The whole God and wife + millions of kids thing kind of gets in the way of Michael/Harry for me, but yes, it is a possibility.

HAHA KINCAID. yes, that would work!

nooo poor Butters!

HAHAHAHA yes but he is rather unslashable as a talking skull.

YAR! TELL ME ABOUT IT! DOING IT SO WRONG!

YES IS IT NOT AWESOME? I actually like the pirate!fic more in terms of literary analysis - because the pirates really do do it, it's so cute! The pirates are basically THE INTERNET ON THE HIGH SEAS.

VICTORIAN RICKROLLING WHERE DID THAT COME FROM? (The Sherlock fics?)

Re: HI HI HI lacewood January 4 2011, 03:17:07 UTC
The pirates are AMAZING, but the Victorian rickrolling is in fact Emily's terrible poem from when she comes down the hill. Admittedly I did not realise it was a rickroll until I read the comments and then reread it. XD

Nay! I shall not cast you aside!
Nay! Never will I disappoint you!
Nay! No other lover shall I seek, never will I leave your embrace!
Nay! By my doing your tears shan't fall!
Nay! Never will I bid you Adieu!
Nay! Beloved! I could never deceive nor distress you!
