Not so delicious?

Things that are annoying me at present: firefox wants me to update, the old delicious add-on won't work if I do, if I want to use the new add-on I have to agree to put up with whatever the new owners want to do with my bookmarks, and delicious has been logging me out more frequently than normal, which I assume has something to do with the fact that ( Read more... )

Yep, all your bookmarks will go fwoot. The new owners try to make it sound like you don't have a choice -

You will be required to transition your bookmarks to AVOS and to accept our terms of service and privacy policy.

- but actually you do, and the e-mail yahoo sent out about it basically says the info from old accounts will be gone -

What happens if you do not transfer your bookmarks
  • Delicious in its current form will be available until approximately July 2011.
  • After that, you will no longer be able to use your existing Delicious account and will not have access to your existing bookmarks or account information.

- which is annoying on other levels, because who knows how many recs lists/link archives will be lost because the original owner isn't updating anymore/lost their password/didn't notice/log in/back them up before the change over?

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED omg.

I will transfer mine but I figure most of the information that's been useful to fans will be lost and that makes me really sad.

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO GIVE US ALL YOUR DATA. WE WILL THEN OWN ALL THE DATA AND WE WILL DO AS WE PLEASE WITH IT.

I think I may wait to transfer my bookmarks for a while. I'll back them up of course, but as for actually turning them over to the new delicious? We'll see how they behave after the changeover is complete...

I agree, that is mildly creepy, if not more than mildly. Makes me feel nervous and I don't have a delicious account.

(The non-nervous part of my brain would like to add: Deliciapocalypse 2: the end of the world just got tastier.)

They're gonna be watching you! Even if you just search the site for X pairing, looking for fic. I haven't been this creeped out since this showed up on tumblr (real-time searches being displayed at google HQ).

(Ahahaha, <3 your brain. I would watch that movie, if it were a movie.)
