I'm not sure I can put into words how much I adore this story. I just ... gyah. Perfect depiction of married!Pendragons (adorable, charming, great rapport, constantly looking out for each other, knowing looks), and the characterization of the various combinations of relationships between Gwaine, Merlin, Arthur, Merlin, Lancelot, Merlin, Gwen, Morgana, and Morgause were equally wonderful. Gwen and Morgana reconciling! Arthur and Morgana on the path of reconciliation, complete with a throwback to their old banter! Then Arthur showing that he's very much a shrewd politician, and having the fic come full circle (I have a bit of a thing for parallels).... Add in clever references to the legends, a fantastic sense of humor, an extraordinary writing style, and so much more that I can't even think about because I'm such a wreck over finishing this fantastic story, and this is truly one of the greatest fics I've had the pleasure of reading. I have a feeling I will be re-reading this one for a very, very long time to come

I just got the biggest kick out of reading all your comments, thank you so much! You basically mention all the things I was going for in this fic (I can't remember which comment it was, but I'm thrilled you picked up on the Chrétien de Troyes bit!) and just, thank you so much for your comments about the relationships and writing style, which put a silly happy grin on my face for ages. <3
Thank you for sticking with it to the end! And thank you for your comments along the way; it's so great seeing someone's reading progress like that. :)
I also love the Merlin/Gwen parts and I wish we'd see some of those bits on the actual show. le sigh
A Merlin/Gwen magical reveal has been on my wishlist for so long... eventually it seemed easier just to write it.
I've reached the end of this and I seriously don't know what to comment on. There's so much happening in this story and it's all woven together into something that...saying 'wonderful' feel almost understated.
While the plot to take the kingdom comes forth amongst all the politics and higher class etiquette, an incredily evocative representation of the characters various relationships with each other and the daunting task of their new position, otherwise the change in their lives. Gwen particulary, who finds herself amongst the back-handed sympathies of the court life, and the daunting role of Queen.
