This Week From The Vortex: METAL and Lemonade
This week saw Jake's safe return, the revenge of the Deadly Motaba
Virus, some great developments with both originals and cover material,
tearful reunions and partings alike, chicks, art, lemonade, and the
obliteration of Houston for our sake. Yep, sounds like vgZero is at it
again!

Comments: YES. After a week and a half of down time it's great to be back! Well, what can I say, Jake is safely home from Houston, I'm starting to feel better after a week of being sick, my old friend Paul got to see the band play, and we only had to blow up one city to do it. (but that's a story for later) Basically we went and made all of rockdom our bitch again and played for so long that I can't friggin talk right now because my voice is so hoarse. "Pure Hatred" by Chimaira is our new pet project - we kind of just started playing it out of nowhere - and I'm still looking to sit down and fully flesh out our next song. Focus is the key. We're not hurting for lack of ideas, just the focus and the time to fully develop one. Things have been a bit stir crazy in the vgZero camp as of late, and our song writing process has suffered as a result. With things returning to what passes as normal around here, and a varitable pool of ideas to draw from, I've got the feeling that our next song is probably going to fall in our collective lap. Extra, extra special effin' thanks to our guests, Paul, Marco, and Sarah for dropping by to check us out today, and best wishes to Paul on his further adventures in Japan. METAL.

Comments: We've got the workings of what could be another song idea, hopefully we won't forget it! We cut out of practice for a while to make attendence at Juila's art reception at the Ambrosia Coffee House, where we met up with Bob and the girls. The art reception was quite the sucess.....and there was much lemonade. We got to run through our originals a few times, but we were waaay too sore or otherwise still tired from the killer practice last night to play for too long. No matter how you cut it though, we're sounding amazing, "110% better than when ya'll were practicing at the church" according to Bob. I think I believe him. I also learned something today, people get reeeeallly suspicious when METAL bands hand out free lemonade out of the back of cars in non-descript shopping center parking lots. - mad
