This Week From The Vortex: Work, Work, Work....

May 03, 2005 11:02

MAD: Yes, the "hardest working band in METAL" definately proved itself this week after two grueling - but ultimately rewarding - practices. I've been getting my share of sleep too, so my health is looking up, yay me!

Scheduled Practice: Mon 4\25\2005
Duration: 4:00pm - 6:00pm : 7:30pm - 10:00pm
Attendance: Full plus Bob, Harley, Heathur
Material Practiced: vgZero Jam Session, vgZero - Methadone, vgZero - Children in Fire, Chimaira - Pure Hatred, Original Projects

Comments: It's hard to call this one. We had plenty of ideas, but nothing really clicked today, and having things convienently interrupted mid-practice once again didn't serve to help things either. We've agreed that such outside interruptions have become a problem, and we're taking steps to solve it - 'nuff said. Everyone was a bit on edge today, and just too drama-ed out from certain aforementioned "outside interruptions" which will remain nameless. I myself am starting to feel very worn thin by my lifestyle and it's got the others concerned. While we didn't make any headway with our writing we did get to throw our idea pool weight around. We've got enough material there to keep us busy. -mad

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scheduled Practice: Tues 4\26\2005
Duration: 4:00pm - 9:30pm
Attendance: Full plus Bob, Heathur, Tina, Zeus, Crystal, Megan, Julia
Material Practiced: vgZero Jam Session, vgZero - Methadone, vgZero - Children in Fire, Original Projects

Comments: We broke the writers block today. Not only did we get to play without a single interruption, we turned out a whole new song. It's still unnamed and needs some work, but we've got the concept down and just need to work it. Harley continues to kick ass with his technical know-how, and contributed heavily to our work today by recording some rough cuts of the new song - big kudos for Harley. We've got Bob doing some more playing too, just to keep him on his toes, and I can't write another word without mentioning Kenny. Kenny's beats in the new song lean more towards the experimental end of things for him, and his input in the new song has been invaluable - he's really sinking his creative teeth into this one. We were all business from the get go and were in top form today. Everyone brought their best with them - definately a job well done. -mad
