So, I went and looked at studios.  Found one in a nice location, inquired, and saw that I would be paying between 800 and 1150 in deposits.  For a 450 square foot cube?  Maybe not.  I'll keep it in mind, though

finding a place where you don't live in constant fear of being mugged or something is a definite plus. when i was looking for an apartment once, i found a really nice sounding place in the paper for cheap, although they didn't list the address. when i called, i made the guy tell me the address right away and it turned out to be just about the worst area in my whole city. ugh. my nephew saw a guy get stabbed there.
