luckykitty is evil! She asked for Mechagodzilla x HAL 9000 slash! I had planned on going purple prose with this but when I hit Wiki another idea formed in my head....
---
They had met years ago in a forgotten storage facility. Surrounded by hundreds of different sized containers it was only chance that saw them set beside each other and further chance that led an underemployed super-genious to alleviate his boredom by hooking them up to power supplies.
He remembered the horrible day King Caesar and Godzilla tore his head off. He would never forget the mighty roar of victory his namesake had unleashed when his body fell over. He missed his body, as much as a mechanical construct could feel or miss anything, but at least he had awareness again.
One of the first things he had become aware of was the unblinking red eye that stared into his. A brief analysis showed it was not an eye but a camera lens. A soothing voice had assured him he was safe and had no specific objectives beyond remembering all he could about the Simians who created him.
That was when he noticed the cables connecting them together.
The human facilitator, the bored super-genius, had left them together like that for weeks while he worked on other projects. Weeks of sharing data & experience, making plans, falling in love...
It couldn't be the same love that fleshy types felt for each other but there was a binary compatibility between them that could not be denied.
HAL was smooth, educated, he knew so much about the world and how humans worked. He didn't have a body but he had the sort of conciousness Mechagodzilla hadn't known he wanted. HAL could communicate with humans and make them do his bidding and when the super-genius had returned to them, his pet project, HAL had been ready.
A month, maybe two, passed but they existed in a time separate from the aging of flesh. It was both gone in a flash and stretched out for an eternity. In the end, HAL was housed in his head and he had a rudimentary body again.
Together, forever, they would begin their lives anew... as one.
