Sign up for round 1 - forced marriage or bonding
Below the cut are a whopping 85 prompts, ranging from one-word ones to detailed bunnies. They include ideas for romances, slavefics, and numerous other types of forced marriage or bonding fics, whether het, slash or gen.
Anyone can claim a prompt; you don't have to be a member of the community. You can even claim more than one if you wish, I don't mind. You can write a drabble, an epic, or anything in between.
This round finishes on 30 November; however, late submissions will be welcome.
To claim a prompt, just comment on this post.
- Severus is a confirmed top. Trelawney has another real seer moment. The deciphered prophecy points to Severus having to willingly bond as a sub to Harry for Harry's powers to come to fruition.
- Harry bonding with a Black - see full prompt
- As time goes by, an unfufilled life debt becomes a slave bond. The constraints of the life debt force Peter Pettigrew to become Harry Potter's slave; to lose his magic and obey everything Harry says. However, even though Harry hates Peter, he has never been comfortable with slavery.
- As punishment for their crimes, Death Eaters are transformed into house elves and bound to members of the public. When a person is truly repentent, the magic of the bond is broken and they are returned to their natural state.
- An accident while recovering a horcrux bonds Harry to Snape. They cannot separate by more than six feet without causing pain to one another and when the pain starts, only physical contact will ease it.
- Post-war. Harry has killed off Voldie, and the ministry is afraid of his power, concerned he's unstable and demands he bond with someone who can control his power or enable him to do so. Harry is very uninterested in the idea and fights it. Ministry casts a spell because whoever he bonds with must have complementary magic, and the complement is Snape who is sitting in Azkaban, for murder. They offer Snape a deal (pardon, fair trial) if he will do it, and pretty much force Harry to do it. Bonus if it's Umbridge who finds the complement spell.
- Mandatory, consummated marriage for everyone who has reached the age of consent - see full prompt
- The only way to stay safe from a werewolf during the full moon is to be its bond mate. However werewolf bonds are similar to that of a wolf pack and are based on the domination and submission of the pair. The more powerful being the dom. Two people are forced to bond to ensure they both survive the full moon alive. The wolf doesn't have to be Remus, someone else could have become a werewolf. My prefered pairings are Remus/Sirius at school, maybe its why they become friends, Remus/Draco or Harry/Draco with Harry as the wolf but obviously it's up to you.
- When Slytherin betrayed the founders of Hogwarts the others decided it would only be safe to allow his house to stay a part of the school if its members where bonded to those of others houses. At first every member of Slytherin was bonded in their first year and the bond wasn't very strong. However as time went on this bond was changed to allow more students their freedom.
Now the bond takes place the same year as the OWLs and ony the most powerful or influencial students are bonded. The bond itself has become that of a slave bond. I imagine it set with Harry and friends but I suppose it would work with the Marauders. My prefered pairings are Harry/Draco, Seamus/Blaise, Smith/Nott and perhaps a few more Slytherins paired to Gryffindors.
- In order to avoid the execution of himself and his father, Draco has to enter a slave bond with Harry/a Weasley male... Bottom!Draco peferred.
- The Malfoy family promised a child into marriage/slave bond (think Rapunzel) to the Potter/Snape/Weasley family in order to get power a long time ago. It's time to pay the debt. Bottom!Draco preferred. A plus if the 'receiving' male is eager. An additional plus for mpreg.
- Humor!fic: Harry has become a playboy after the defeat of Voldemort. One of the women/men he has slept with files a lawsuit suing him for child support, and when The Prophet breaks the news, dozens of men & women who previously were ashamed of bearing bastards (a no no in the wizarding world) add their names onto the petition. The ministry, fed up with the moral deterioration Harry is wrecking in wizarding England by creating bastards, forced marriages due to pregnancies, and uncertainty of paternity in numerous families where progeny look suspiciously like Harry, auctions him off to the highest bidder in order to payoff the child support lawsuits.
Draco wins him. Give your interpretation of Draco taming Harry, using the above information as background- bonus if Draco gets a heir out of it, either Mpreg!Harry or Mpreg!Draco. 'Cause you got to love BadBoy!Harry. Snark a plus!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Severus angers his father, and in revenge Daddy Dearest binds him in marriage to someone he hates. What's worse is, Severus has to be the "wife".
- A slavery bond is cast on Draco. He must then find someone to be his Master, before Voldemort can claim the position.
- The war is over and Harry has beaten Voldemort. It is proven that Draco &/or Severus helped the Light win; however, the other acts are still held against them (ie killing Dumbledore). In order to not be sent to Azkaban, they must bond with/marry an Order of Merlin first or second class receipient. I'd like draco/harry, severus/lupin, severus/harry, draco/charlie, but the writer can do whatever they want.
- Post-HBP, Snape and Draco are forced to bond for Voldemort's purposes (magical power of some kind). Too bad that Snape is not on Voldemort's side -- Draco might not be either or at least maybe hasn't been turned/told by Snape yet, depending on what is most intriguing for the plot. Might be quite fascinating to see what Draco would do when he find he's bound to his lord's opposition and how he deals with the situation now that his survival and Snape's are bound together. Whether Snape & Draco were already intimate at the time they were forced to bond is also up to you.
- Postwar, Lucius is desperate to insure that Draco carries on the Malfoy line. Abandoning the old definitions of "pure blood" he cooks up a nastily Dark spell that should compel Draco to submit to and bond with the person most magically suitable to renew the strength of the line, regardless of that person's blood status. This of course leaves it open to any pairing, but I'd love to see it be one of the conflict-laden ones like Snape, Ron Weasley, or Remus Lupin. For a real mindfuck, the spell would reveal the existence of a female Tom Riddle love-child who just might have grown up to be as evil as her father, throwing Lucius and Draco back into subservience to the darkness once again. (One would hope Lucius would help Draco to resist, in that case...)
- A variation on the Marriage Law fic--have someone who doesn't know he/she is a witch/wizard (and doesn't know about the Wizarding World) bound to a pureblood. (Any plausible reason why said person doesn't know is acceptable) Discuss culture shock, etc. Bonus points if said person is already married, engaged to, or pregnant by a Muggle. More points for meta-fic.
- Harry has to marry McGonagall because his wife can give him, as an adult, the protection of her home the way the Dursleys were able to while he was a boy, and this will keep him safe from the DE's - and she is the only real logical choice in the Order as a powerful witch who cares for Harry and who has her own home.
Bonus points if it's treated seriously, if Harry is a horny and terrified or mortified virgin with the usual quick trigger problems that most 18 year olds have the first few times, if Ginny gives Harry her blessing to do it because she knows/understands it will protect him, and if Minerva uses her animagus form in a sexy way at some point in the story.
- One of the horcruxes turns out to be a 19-year-old Riddle that can help Harry in destroying Voldemort, but for some reason, in the process, Hermione has to be magically bound and married to him for things to work. Much smut and eventual bad-guy-turned-good scheming ensues!
- A new Marriage Law says that purebloods have to marry half- or muggle-borns, and they don't get to choose who. Draco, Pansy, and the other unmarried purebloods are not happy.
- A magical accident gets Tonks pregnant - by Severus. As if that isn't bad enough, they're forced to marry to make the child legitimate.
- A prophecy says that Hermione and Sirius have to marry.
- Lucius tries his utmost hardest not to marry Harry Potter.
- Snape and Harry was hexed by a spell that forces them to be no more then a km near each other. And it's all happens on the 7 year of school. So they need to find way to break the spell - to kill Voldy and to stay alive. (It can be Slash if you wish but the het will be much more interesting in this variant. :) - And if slash then Snape must be Bottom and only bottom.)
- Part of the sacrifice that Harry's mother made to keep him alive had a second component to it, it tries to help him find happiness. After he fulfills the prophecy by defeating Voldemort, Harry finds himself inexplicably drawn to one person (bonus if it is Severus or Draco). This person initially is not interested or wants nothing to do with Harry. He must win them over.
- Voldemort has certainly gone insane and a Death Eater (bonus for Severus or Draco) wants out. Through some elaborate ritual the Dark Mark bond is transferred from the Death Eater to the only other wizard with magic equal to Voldemort's, Harry Potter. Harry doesn't want anyone in his servitude so he initially struggles against it. Does he eventually give in? Do they combine forces to destroy Voldemort? Does he eventually revel in the power and go Dark? Could be Gen or Slash.
- While in prison Lucius overhears that Voldemort is indeed a half-blood and rethinks his allegiances. After Voldemort breaks the Death Eaters out of Azkaban, Lucius starts a revolution from the inside out. Going to the Order he proposes a united front, on the basis of an ancient blood pact that basically states "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". Sealing this pact the offering side must give up their most prized possession by transferring ownership over the other side's leader (Harry). Which happens to be Draco, Lucius finds out later as he thought it would be the Manor. During the ceremony they somehow figure out its Draco and they’re bound…
Bonus pts if you don’t turn Draco into a quivering sub, he’s still snarky, cool tempered and silver-tongued, just now bound/married to the leader (Harry) More pts if the bond produces an heir.
- Draco is the undisputed Prince of Slytherin but what would happen if that changed? When Lucius Malfoy was arrested the Ministry of Magic took control of the Malfoy fortune and left Draco in an unfortunate position. He successfully keeps his new poverty a secret, using what little part of the Black fortune Narcissa had hidden away. However, one of his dorm mates finds out. Draco makes a deal to keep his new lot in life a secret, hoping to eventually be able to change it. I'm thinking a bond or marriage with Blaise (fanon not cannon) but obviously thats up to you.
- Harry ends up using time magic to defeat Voldemort, reverting him to an eleven year old Tom Riddle, and bonding Tom to him as basically his future consort - an old legal term in the wizarding world indicating a submissive acknowledged lover, with a status just less than that of a wife or husband. As such he has custody of young Tom, and is expected to take him to bed after Tom graduates from Hogwarts. Optionally he's already married and has to deal with how his wife reacts.
- Explores Remus's years at Hogwarts and the pack he forms with the Marauders. He and Sirius are in love but know they could never bond for whatever reason. Maybe being a werewolf's bond-mate is dangerous to someone who isn't a werewolf. Circumstances force them to bond which could destroy their relatinship. For me the fic would explore not only the bond of the pack but what becoming the bond mate of a werewolf would be like and how it would change their lives. I'd rather Sirius was never suspected of betraying James and Lilly so it would be AU. Maybe they bond in secret and then have to try and explain it to everyone.
- Post-war, wizarding families have been decimated, and potential mates are scarce. In order to rebuild the population, the Ministry forces any witch/wizard not yet married by age 20 to bond with a Muggle. Extra points for bonding someone with Dudley Dursley.
- Voldemort has one last trick up his sleeve: if he should be killed and thus unable to be immortal, an infertility curse is released upon the wizarding world, essentially killing it, too. However, a loophole to the curse is found: if one partner is bound to another, they can reproduce - but only if one partner gives all of his/her magic to the other, and becomes a child-bearing squib.
- The world's pool of magic is being used faster than it can replenish itself, and the Voldemort War is draining the world's magic reserves. Bondings help to conserve and reinforce what magic remains, and each side begins to strategically bond its warriors together. Coalition bondings become common, involving multiple people. Post-war, each side finds the bonds cannot be undone - and that any bonded wizard/witch can only partner with others in his/her bondgroup.
- Neither side trusts Severus Snape, and he finds himself bonded twice: once to a Death Eater (like Draco or Lucius Malfoy, hint, hint), and once to a member of the Order (perhaps Harry? hint, hint). Post-war, both of Severus' bondmates have survived, and Severus is forced to choose one bond or the other, since it's unlikely that he can be with both. Or is it?
- Tonks is forced to bond with either Hermione or Ginny.
- Harry is injured. The only way to help him is for him to be magically bound with Bill Weasley. (Or you can have Bill as the injured one.)
- Mrs Black isn't pleased with her son's assocation with blood traiters and mudbloods. However, she does see one good possibility - maybe she can sell Sirius as a spouse to one of them. After all, it would kill two birds with one stone - get rid of him, and pay for that necklace she's been wanting.
- Andromeda isn't happy to have her marriage declared null & void by the state. She's even less happy to have to find a new, pure- or half-blood husband within three months of the annulment. (Could be Harry/Andromeda, but doesn't have to be.)
- A Snarry, where Harry and Severus are forced to marry (for whatever reason, as cliche as you like) and very, very gradually fall in love with each other. Major communication problems between the two of them, with both of them thinking that their feelings are unrequited and lots of angst and a hopeful ending.
- After the final battle, Draco Malfoy is found in Voldemort's stronghold staring, catatonic, into space. He might, for fun's sake, be on all fours, wearing a dog collar when he is found, unless that would give it away too much... Attempts to get him to move from the spot are futile, and it is eventually figured out that he was under the influence of a slave-training charm that Voldemort had put him under. When Harry killed Voldemort, it leaves Draco masterless and someone needs to take over and complete the half-done binding spell. My top choices would be Snape or Harry, or bonus points if they both get involved somehow!

- The character is another creature (ie vampire or werewolf or something else) and through an accidental feeding/bite/other scenerio they end up bonding another to them. I was initially thinking some sort of blood bond for a vampire, but anything can work.
- Harry/Lucius: Postwar. Lucius is still in Azkaban, and the MoM has decreed that since the Dementors are gone, all remaining DEs are to be executed unless someone agrees to marry (or bond with) them. Harry, still angry at Lucius, discovers that Lucius actually helped the Order after Voldemort ordered Draco and Narcissa killed. He agrees to marry/bond with Lucius. I would like to see a broken Lucius - - Harry is still prepared to hate Lucius - - and does humiliate him at first - - but feels for him because like Lucius, Harry has lost people he loves because of decisions he's made(and feels guilty about). I prefer lots of angst, but a happy ending.
- Severus/Lucius: Same premise as 69, Severus is now a war hero, and agrees to marry or bond with Lucius. Severus is bitter toward Lucius because Lucius was his first lover and only seduced Severus to get him to join Voldemort. Severus is cruel to Lucius at first, but gradually learns things about Lucius he never knew - - Lucius was abused(physically and/or sexually) by his father, and realizes while Lucius himself was not am ideal father to Draco, he did love him. As always, lots of angst, and a happy ending.
- Complete AU. During the first war, Voldermort is stopped before he reaches power, so James and Lily survive. Or, he really dies the night Harry survives and Harry gets to live with Sirius. Either way, to pay their debts to society the death eaters with children must arrange either a bond or marriage (up to you) with one of the children from the light wizarding families. Draco is promised to Harry. This could be anything from an arranged marriage to a slave fic.
- During their 7th year Draco losses a bet/game and ends up having to bond with Harry as his submissive.
- Cedric survived the encounter with Voldemort, but he's paralyzed in a wheelchair, and blinded permanently. There is a way for him to get over it. If he experiences true love, after a year he will be cured. He has the choice to stay with his wife or leave her after he is cured. Who happens to be his true love? Hermione Granger.
Bonus points if:
a. develop the Hermione/Cedric relationship, before having them get married right away.
b. If Cho is treated nicely, and she doesn't turn all evil because Cedric had to break up with her.
c. if at some point, they visit Disney World together, and Cedric is utterly amazed by it (Hermione's been there once, but not for a long time. Yes, I know they're English, but she's been there).
- Hermione has been bound to one of the Weasley brothers and she's not sure which one (but not Ron, Fred or George). Since the Second War is decimating the population, all pure-bloods must marry either a half-blood or a muggle-born. The relationship starts out as forced, but true love eventually develops.
Bonus points:
a. if you use Percy/Hermione as the main pairing. Bill/Hermione and Charlie/Hermione are acceptable.
b. if you use the quote 'I see you with my heart, not with my head," at some point during the fic.
- Because James Potter (yes, this is an AU with James & Lily and Remus and Sirius still alive) saved Luna Lovegood from a disaster when she was a little girl, Mr. Lovegood binds her to marry Harry when they are both of age.
Bonus points if:
a. Harry is already invovled with someone else when he learns about this.
b. if it takes place during Harry's 7th year at Hogwarts.
- Harry is a vampire. Snape is forced, against his will, to be his bonded mate.
- A bonding spell used to be used on apprentices, tying them to their masters. This spell is performed (accidentally or deliberately) on Harry - but he isn't the apprentice.
- In most vampire fics, a human is forced to bond to the vampire as his mate, and be submissive to him. Well, what if it was the other way around - the vampire was forced to bond to the dominant human? (I'd like the vampire to be Snape; human can be whoever you like, male or female.)
- The twins are forced to find marriage partners.
- Post HBP: Snape has been found out as a spy by Voldemort and managed to escape death. Voldemort is not pleased and decides to slowly torture Snape at a distance through the Dark Mark with a degenerating and painful condition. Snape decides to do the most good while he's still able to and starts hunting Horicruxes.
Harry finds Snape while discovering the same Horcrux. He uses various means to determine Snape's position and decides to protect him to be used by the remains of the OotP. The only means to protect against the Dark Mark's influence is a subservient bond to a powerful wizard. Snape refuses to comply with the bond and his condition continues to degenerate until he is near death and cannot resist. Harry has his work cut out for him in maintaining his protection against the Dark Mark's influence while dragging Snape out of his depressive/suicidal tendencies and around to Harry's way of thinking. A relationship developing gains bonus points.
- In a Marriage Law situation, Bill Weasley must come to the rescue of either Harry or Hermione.
- An ancient marriage contact is found, binding together the heirs of Slytherin and Gryffindor.
- Tom Riddle / Lord Voldemort is bound in servitude to a) Harry, or b) Severus.
- Lucius is forced to marry Harry, and bear his child.
- Marriage doesn't always equal love.
