e.e. cummings seems to be remembered mostly for his odd use of the english language.  his typographical experiments, including using entirely lower case letters in much of his writing.

People say/type/blog/act/sign thinly veiled truths.  The "deep dark" secrets are all laid out in slightly cryptic codes.  Like we are presenting the truth in an illegible way, because we really want everyone to figure it out.

On the streetcar yesterday I found myself thinking about the things I want in my life - the big things that I want to have in the course of my life.  It's not unusual for me to think about those things, I think about that sort of stuff a fair bit.

I love living in a country where Rick Mercer is an incredibly popular comedian.

I love living in a country where we don't think twice about airing a show called "Little Mosque on the Prairie."

I hate being neighbours with a country who would never let someone like Rick Mercer be on TV - let alone talk to the leader of the nation.

Earlier today we were talking a bit about board games and I expressed my apathetic view of monopoly.  It's not a bad game, but it is not one of my favourites.  The game has no clear end-point, and it's not terribly interesting.

Then when I came home I saw THIS!!!

Today I organized my cupboards.  Everything fits in nicely, in a cohesive, easy to understand, sort of way.
Tonight I stayed home and had a nice home-cooked meal and played mariocart and scrabble.

It might not be very exciting from the outside, but there is nothing that compares with the easy, practical joy of having a home and a family.

I just saw the most amazing movie.

Blood Diamond

The acting, direction, cinematography, and score were amazing. Yes, it had a Hollywood gleam - most notable in the existence of Jennifer Connelly's character.
