...that having bangs could make such a difference in your "look."

I gave up on bangs over a decade ago because of two things; 1) I have curly, sometimes unruly hair - making it very difficult to maintain bangs, 2) I never really TRIED to maintain them - meaning I was lazy and unwilling to do what it took to make them look right while also lacking the knowledge of what it would take to make them look perfect.

BUT, friday night, my friend Tanya put the idea of bangs back into my head. She has curly, often unruly hair and she cut herself some bangs this past week. The most intriguing thing was that friday night and saturday were so humid, wet, and NOT friendly towards bangs on a curly haired person, YET Tanya's new bangs looked GREAT! So I proceeded to interrogate her about it. She told me about all the wonderful styling products and the tricks that she uses.

At first I was still sceptical that bangs would work on MY hair. But, I went to bed friday night thinking about the possibility of bangs, and woke up saturday with bangs on my mind. By the time Tanya and I got together again to do some massive pre-wedding shopping I had almost convinced myself to go for it and cut some bangs. So, while we were running around town saturday, with nasty drizzly weather and Tanya's perfect bangs, I proceeded to question her about what to do.

Saturday evening, after extensive shopping, while resting up for round two, Tanya helped me create bangs. She cut them and styled them. They turned out AWESOME! And later that night when we ventured out of the house again, they survived the terrible weather! SO, saturday night, on my way home from her place, I stopped by my 24 hour HEB and loaded up on styling products and gadgets. AFTER getting home, I spent the next hour or so playing with my new bangs, testing out different styles and clips.

This morning, I also spend copious amounts of time styling and playing with my new hair-do. But I didn't stop there! I took my new do one step further and colored it earlier this evening. AND for the first time EVER, I used PERMANENT COLOR! Not only that, it's a very dark brown.

I'm VERY EXCITED about showing up to work tomorrow with and entirely new look. I've set my alarm extra early so that I can have enough time to get the hair JUST RIGHT! In addition, I've got a new outfit to wear tomorrow - a raw cotton shirt, made by Tibetan refugees in India, that I ordered online last week. Wish me luck!

P.S. My new favorite Ice Cream Flavor is Ben & Jerry's Pistachio Pistachio!!!
