Someone explain to me what the hell is it about the Harry Potter fandom that turns grown women into raging insane harpies?

And people wonder why I still haven't read the books... I'm nutty enough as it is, thanks.

Hehe, I saw this. I used to be a member of hat_sorting. I mostly find it funny that the community in general made stupid_free (and now it's on f_w. Should've thought to check there to see if it'd make it up), not that she freaked out about her privacy being invaded (which...depending on how you want to look at it, is both true and not really true. She set herself up for the possibility just by posting about her personal life in general online, nevermind a community) and the layout being changed. I feel bad that she had to be the victim of their cruel behavior. I know from my experience with them that they can be pretty heartless, which is one of the reasons, I think, that I left that community. I don't even remember any more.
