I don't worry particularly about earning less than the Ivanovs -- I have a comfy salary at a job that allows enough flexibility for my taste (as in, I can have a 8-to-8 workday when I choose to but nobody can force me to do it when I don't). I'll never be a "rich" person, mainly due to the lack of entrepreneurial gene but that's okay.

No, money is not a problem here. Neither is staying at home full-time (I'll go batty within a month). And economic dependence is something women in my family haven't thought about for the last 4 generations.

The real problem for me is that pesky inherited perfectionism that's really quite a bit like the herpes virus -- lies dormant for a while and then jumps out at the least opportune moment possible and makes me worry. and worry. And then worry some more.
