Oh no! Poor Tracey! It gets worse and worse!

Especially as plainly there are some quite worrying things going on outside her own personal Cloud of Angst...

Yes, she's really having a rotten time at the moment, isn't she?

I've always thought that Slytherin House had to be seething with plotting and counter plotting all through HBP. To my mind the Slytherins are the ones who are going to really go through the wringer in the next book ...

The uniform rules, for example, ensure that all students who attend Hogwarts do so on an equal footing.

She’s wrong, of course. It isn’t equality; it’s expecting Muggleborns to conform. Go Tracey!

I'm assuming for the purposes of the story that McGonagall's a pureblood (haven't seen anything around that contradicts that assumption), so she has no idea what it's really like for Muggleborns despite having taught them for years.

Having read the next paragraph, I can appreciate that Tracey was rather rude, but... I am reminded of the argument that school uniform prevents bullying, because everyone wears the same. No, there's no bullying about clothes and income at private schools, none at all.

"Minerva" McGonagall strikes me as a credible pureblood.
