I don't have a problem with the special effects but then I come from a generation that grew up on Doctor Who, Blakes Seven and the Tomrrow People (the original not the new one) :-).
Agree with you that occasionally some of the acting from bit-parts is a little ropey but the leads (with the exception of Sinclair who I find a bit wooden) more than make up for it. I just can't see anyone except Andreas Katsulas playing G'kar.
