Halloween and the Dreaded Calendar

We’ve had a lot more out of season guests than last year so October’s B&B earnings have added up to a tidy sum.   Fortunately, they weren’t all like the Leaving Party From Hell (see last entry). We’ve also had a really lovely Dutch family whose four year old daughter fell in love with Timeshare Dog, an older English couple who’d been here in August ( Read more... )

The calendar thing annoys me a bit too. We've already had the one from the bin men - about 2 weeks ago! Needless to say, I had hardly any cash in the house! Must get some and put it away in a drawer for when the others come round. Like you, I just wish the calendars were a bit nicer. We usually shove ours in a drawer and chuck them out a year later. I don't mind giving people tips at Christmas, but they should organise it so that one group sells calendars and the other groups something different maybe, then less stuff would end up in the bin!

Seriously, though, I wouldn't recommend hiding from the bin men. They are well placed for getting their revenge.

Thankfully I live in a school complex, and our buzzer is broken. So unless they're stalking the bins when I happen to be bringing things out, they'll be out of luck. ^_^
