What I did on my holidays

Got back late Tuesday night and just about managed the unpacking before collapsing in a heap of goo.

As holidays go it wasn’t the most restful but it was tremendous fun. It also seemed more than ironic to be traveling from a tourist region to take a break in Cleethorpes and Reading. Not two of the most obvious places that spring to mind when ( Read more... )

I think the Reading Tourist Office is part of Reading Council's ongoing cunning plan to attain City status one day. Can't see any other use for it myself.

I do hope DW gets back on track in Season 3. I have great hopes of the Shakespeare episode.

It's superb - spot on Pratchett from beginning to end, with some inspired casting.

I hope they do one of the others. I'd really like to see what they'd make of Witches Abroad.

Glad you had a good time! My daughter got hooked on 'Strictly Come Dancing' while we were over there and made my mum put it on a DVD for her. She has watched it every day since we've been home! I've got the Doctor Who episode to watch too, but haven't had time yet.

Hope you enjoyed your UK break, too!

Strictly Come Dancing is amazing, isn't it? The old Come Dancing was never quite like that.

Welcome back, and glad you had a good holiday.

I have fond, if now sadly distant, memories of my grandad cooking the sprouts on a camping gaz stove in the garden on Christmas Day, to free up a hob. But then, those were the days when we sat down 12 to Christmas Dinner....

*Grin*

There were five of us at this feast - parents in law, me and hubby and my sister in law. There was enough food for 12 :-). Mother in law was panicking because she didn't think she'd get it done in time so hubby and I went into dinner cooking mode and helped her pull through. It was all great fun, and the eventual dinner was wonderful.
