Live+Press is a WP plug-in that allows you to cross post your WP stuff over to LJ. :) I've found it useful to write stuff on the WP site and have it automatically come over to LJ. Means comments can stay here on LJ and you can keep the WP site sans commenting (and thus avoid spam).

oish.. every time I look at your icon I can't stop myself from saying... "no capes"

Yeah - i had originally piddled with one of those cross posting plug-ins but it behaved erratically ... of course - that's one out of many. Next time I'm dinking around under the hood I'll check that plug in out.

Regrettably the Book of Faces has taken quite a few of the regulars over. Though I feel it doesn't change the purpose of the journal. An artist shouldn't stop creating if the audience dwindles... or something. I'm not great with associations...

Hope all is and goes well, and it's always nice to see you on the LJ f'list. :)

kinda makes ya re-evaluate why you're doing it in the first place doesn't it?

I mean- I've got really REALLLLY deep seated animosity about FaceBook... I'm on it - but truly keep it at arm's length.... a decade ago I had to constantly repeat to people... "no.. I didn't see it - I don't watch television"...

now it's: "No.. I don't read your wall on Facebook... you'll have to tell me your news the old fashioned way."

:-/

Agreed. Whereas on LJ you "friend" people you are interested in reading, in Facebook, one can be incline to subscribe to people one knows personally or "friend" personalities. It's so easy to over share over there...

I'm still here!

I feel LJ is still better than FB for anything longer than a couple sentences. There's a "crosspost to FB" tickybox on the posting page, which I use a lot. Then all the FB people know to come here and read something longer.

ya know - I've sorta liked keeping a rift between FB and LJ (dot-info wp-site)..

not a firewall.. but a rift... you can find this (or more practically my WP site) - but ya gotta dig a little.

there's something about the idea of "privileged information" - though that's total bullshit right? - I mean - if you're putting something on the web - it's out there... "passive aggressive" sharing?

meh.. I dunno. Still on first cup of coffee

That's a legit approach, too. It all depends on what readership you want to pull.

Sometimes I wish there were filters for "only show this to people I'm not close to"...

Folks seem to slowly be returning. FB isn't really suited to a decent discussion.

well.. it *is* - but certainly doesn't encourage it.. TMI... and when you're given an easy out of the "thumbs up" button... why would anyone stick around long enough to actually discuss/ converse.

Facebook has taken most of the drivel away. The volume is much lower, but there is much less crap.

What Bill said.

Now that I'm no longer writing entries with an eye toward comment whoring, it really has become more of a real journal for me.

Noticed that while surfing about this morning... of course - "Status Updates" has really relieved the trivial info pressure...
