isn't it about time for a Unicorn to step through an anomaly? Survey says "yes." An anomaly opened up at ESPN. My god, it's full of sparkles.
But I have noticed that it feels a wee less cartoony than before. It's gone a little darker, I think. Not like BSG levels of wrist-slitting darkness, but yeah, maybe less jokey, cartoony. I mean, we always knew Helen was one twisted chick, but in 303 she was downright scary crazy. And really kind of sad. And then, you know, killing Cutter. I did not expect that at all.
Previous seasons the characters were all "ohh, critters, this is new and weird and kind of scary but cool" and this series they're all "wow, this kinda sucks. these things'll eat you! or turn you into a giant stompy mushroom! is it too late to go into accounting?"
It's a silly show, but it seems to have some respect for its own silliness, and takes it seriously in the way only a show featuring a Giganotosaurus stomping down a runway can. (dino ftw!)
Holy cow! They killed Cutter and Jenny? I may have to tune back in! (Erm, so to speak.) I had ahemed 301 and nearly hurt myself laughing at how stupid it was.
Helen killed Cutter, and Jenny survived being turned into a mushroom critter, but only barely, and she bailed at the end of the ep.
Is it better, or just bloodier-minded? I don't know if I'm really the person to ask -- this show is highly ridiculous, but it entertains me quite a lot. I guess it depends on your tolerance for silly giant mushroom critters and such.

Except for the ruffled shirts.
Oh, man, how did I forget the ruffles. Seriously, the wardrobe department has to hate her. That's all I can figure.
