hey. thanks for the check in. yea. i'm ok...now. reports said she should be just fine. they anticipate a 'full and speedy recovery' and it was caught early. isnt it strange how we can be so impacted and concerned (nay... distraught) over individuals we don't know personally or don't know us? i felt as if someone had given me the same news about a family member. ah, well. she may as well be a family member i guess. she's impacted my life in ways she'll never know. i guess its the fact that i doubt i'd be who i am had it not been for her own bravery and the messages she put out there... or rather... i wouldn't have had the courage to be who i am... yes. that's it.
i too, am going home. but, i will certainly drop a line :) tchau doll!

That's such a powerful statement; but it's just hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that one can look up to a person so much. I never really had any long term heroes our anything (do Luke Skywalker and Jim Carrey count?). Meh. Oh well.

of course they count. I guess I relied on Melissa Etheridge to be my inspiration because when I was younger, I thought I was the only "strange one" in a family of happy catholic heterosexuals. This was before my mother came out to me and I found out there are a happy populations of pagans, liberals, and other forms of nonconformists in my family.
