Five double drabbles, each exactly 200 words long. None of them are particularly slashy - the first three could be depending on how you interpret them. Again, the Charlie/Liam is not a Pacecest fic so is squick free.
Ratings: PG for the first 4, PG-13 for the last one (for drug use).
Disclaimer: Don't own 'em. Never will.
Title: Hook
Pairing: Charlie/Locke
fanfic100 prompt #55 Spirit
Summary: Power corrupts
Hook
There is something innocent about Charlie, a naivety that Locke is amazed to see inside this man to whom, he knows, the world has shown its dark side. He wonders how someone so betrayed by those closest to him can still accept the words of another without questioning them. If he told Charlie that the sky was pink not blue would he gaze upwards from his pupil-like station, crossed legged at Locke’s feet, look carefully at the heavens then agree? Locke thinks that maybe Charlie would and that thought sparks something deep within him. He could mould this man, teach him what he knows, have Charlie follow wherever he leads even if that means his fate would be the same as Boone’s. The island may demand a new sacrifice and Locke thinks that he may have just found his lamb. He wonders if Charlie would go willingly to the slaughter, if the right words would cause him to walk straight into death’s waiting arms. Locke looks again at Charlie’s face, sees faith written there and a shiver hits his spine. Power over another is a seductive thing and Locke can feel himself becoming intoxicated by the trust in Charlie’s eyes.

How they turned after the shots to find Charlie still poised, gun held tight in both hands, his face twisted with a menace that none of them knew he had within him. Hurley found it hard to believe at first, that his friend could be the one to end Ethan’s life with well placed bullets to his chest, but now that he is here, digging beside Charlie, he can see the dark cloud that surrounds him and imagine the violence held tight inside Charlie’s mind and it scares him just enough to keep him silent. He wants to help, to reach out to Charlie and tell him that it’s ok to have done what he did, but he doesn’t know the way to say it. Humour seems wrong so, as that’s all he has in the way of comfort, he just digs and hopes that Charlie knows that he is here if he needs him.

Arrhythmia
Charlie’s throat is purpled by bruises and Jack finds that he needs to keep running his fingertips across the swathe of colour. He tells himself he is checking for signs of swelling, for further injury hidden below the shade’s vivid bloom but he knows deep down that what he is doing is finding comfort in the warmth of Charlie’s skin, in the ripple of movement as Charlie swallows and in the beat of Charlie’s heart translated to his fingers by the pulse of the carotid in Charlie’s neck. He doesn’t know why it means so much to him that Charlie is alive or why his first thought on finding a stranger amongst them was the whereabouts of this man to whom he has no real tie. He just knows that Charlie risked everything to save him from an early death in a cave and that the thought of him gone was too heavy a weight to bear. Jack tries not to question the facts of what happened, how he made Charlie live again through sheer force of will. He just reaches out and traces the purple stain once more, feels the beat of life and knows that all is well.

Title: Nimiety
Pairing: Charlie/Heroin (OTP! ;) )
fanfic100 prompt #33 Too Much
Summary: Too much is sometimes more than enough
Nimiety
He knows something is wrong as soon as the rush hits him. It’s too strong, it envelopes him like a fog, makes his vision blur and his other senses soften. He can hear the pounding of the bass from the clubs PA filtering through the walls of the cubicle but it seems distant now, like its miles away and its beat seems too fast as his own pulse starts to stutter and slow. He lurches forward, instinct kicking in, knowing that there are people just beyond the thin wooden door that threatens to be the seal for his tomb. His hand reaches out, numb fingers struggling with the lock, trying to gather the last of his focus for this one simple task. The white of the walls are closing in on him, darkening, pushing him down to his knees. He wants to sink into the warmth that fills his body, fall into its arms, drift off to sleep but fate steps in, the door opens and he falls instead onto a cold tiled floor. The smell of disinfectant burning his nose before darkness claims him. He wakes to the clean fresh linen of a hospital bed and Liam’s angry glare.
