1. Your Name: Kailey
2. Your Partner's Name: Chris
3. Your Age: 16
4. Their Age: 17
5. How long have you two been together: 10 months
6. How did you two meet: He moved in down the street. I had seen
him so I was outside on the phone with my friend, hoping to catch
another glimpse of him. I had just finished telling her about the hot
guy who had moved in when I heard someone come out of my neighbors
house. Of course it just had to be him. The first thing he said to me
was, "Hi, I'm Chris. Apparently I'm hot. And you are..?" I wanted the
ground to open up and swallow me then and there, but now I'm grateful
that it didn't. It was embarassing, yes, but we became best friends =).
A little more than 2 years later, he told me how he felt and asked me
to be his girlfriend. I had liked him since the moment I met him but I
didn't want to ruin the friendship & I chickened out and said no. I
beat myself up over it for a day, then went and told him how I felt. He
pulled out roses that he had been planning on giving me if I had said
yes the day before and asked me to "be his girl", then kissed me. He's
my first official boyfriend & my first kiss.
7. Do you see yourself marrying this person: Eventually? Maybe.
Now? No. I love him with all of my heart, but marriage is forever. I'm
only 16. I don't know where life is going to take us, what it's going
to put us through, and if we're going to be able to make it through it.
I'd love to marry him. I don't have a doubt in my mind that he'd be an
excellent husband and father, and that the love would always be there
between us. But at this point, I can't definitely say what's going to
happen with us. If we're destined to be together, we've got plenty of
time. I don't see the sense of rushing into things, or promising him
forever when I can't be sure I can fulfill that promise just yet.
8. Tell us a romantic story: When he gave me my promise
ring! It was at the end of July and I was down at Cape Cod with him
& his family to meet his extended family. We only went for a few
days. On our last day, we went out to dinner with his parents & my
grandmother & her friends (who were also at the Cape & Chris
invited them along without me knowing). Afterwards we went to the beach
& cuddled on a blanket watching the sunset, just talking and eating
the brownies he'd made for me (I'm a chocolate addict =P). Then we
walked along the shore hand-in-hand, and he got down on one knee, told
me all the reasons he loved me, & gave me the ring. It's not
promising an engagement in the future- I'm way too young to be
promising someone forever, no matter how much I love him- just that
we'll love each other forever. I guess that kind of contradicts, but it
makes sense to me. I can't promise to be with him forever just yet
because we don't know where life is going to take us & I don't like
to break promises, but I know I'll always have a place for him in my
heart. I believe you always love your first love to a certain extent,
so that's what the ring is for- a symbol of our neverending love for
one another.
9. Tell us a funny story: For our 6 months, he cooked us dinner at
his house and then we went to the playground, where he "proposed" with
a ring pop (very cute). We were on the swings when Chris decided he
wanted to use the slide since it was only us and one other family
there. He started to go down the slide (it was one of those tubular
ones), and he got stuck! I had to push his shoulders to make him go
down, but it was hilarious. The little kids were just standing there
laughing at him, and he remained good-natured about it.
10. What is your song: I'll Be by Edwin McCain. We had danced to it
at the first dance we went to together (as friends at his 9th grade
dance. I was in 8th grade & he had just moved here so I was his
date). A week into our relationship, I was sick and he came over while
I was in the shower & decorated my room with roses. When I came out
of the shower-pjs, stringy hair, looking awful- he made me dance with
him, sang the song in my ear, and told me he loved me =) (I realize a
week is insanely fast, but keep in mind we were best friends
beforehand)
11. How does your significant other make you feel: Absolutely
amazing. There are no words to describe it. Just being with him feels
so right. He can always cheer me up and I love that he'll just cuddle
with me when I need to be held. He's very perceptive to my moods.
12. How did you find [info]themoreiloveyou? I found it in my favorites. I must have put it there a while ago, so I don't remember. Sorry guys.
Unfortunately my computer crashed recently & I lost everything. My
camera is being borrowed for an indefinite amount of time, so no
pictures.
