A Song of Ice and Fire - Speculative World Map

First is a huge and complex spreadsheet which details the entire timeline of A Song of Ice and Fire. Work is ongoing with this monumental task but I hope to have the spreadsheet finished before the ( Read more... )

Looks great. And nice interactive tool.

And interesting about the new book. I was going to say more but I see that Ran has just announced it on westeros.

It does occur to me that the opening episodes of Season 2 could effect the map as well, since we presumably will be seeing Qarth on the title sequence map (and maybe Vaes Tolorro in the first episode?). Assuming GRRM gives them a canon map reference (as he did for the Free Cities in Season 1), that would presumably be a valid reference :-)

That's true, but I would not be surprised if Vaes Tolorro gets cut with the first episode focusing on the long march through the Red Wastes and then simply arriving at the gates of Qarth in episode two.

There is a shot in the latest preview video of Dany and Jorah stood outside some gates while soldiers pour out to block her path which seems to indicate that she has not been led there by Xaro Xohan Daxos, Pyat Pree and Quaithe after Jhogo rode to Qarth and brought them to her in Vaes Tolorro. Thinking about it that would not work well on screen anyway.

Depending on what we see as the camera pans over the world to Qarth in the intro sequence I may or may not update the map, but I don't want to do too much before the Lands of Ice and Fire poster set gets released.
