I don't think people are lying when they say "I'm sorry." Perhaps if they added more to it. "I'm sorry that didn't work out." or "I'm sorry you are hurting right now." or "I'm sorry that I can't help you fix that." I think most people genuinely want the people they care about to be happy, but unfortunately, we can only have so much of an impact on our love one's life. As much as we want, we can't fix our friend's problems. "I'm sorry" is often all we can do. And yes, we are the axes to our own world. That's not selfish. That's the way it has to be. Fortunately, we have interconnections with others in addition to our own axis. So what's up anyway?
