Training Organization (Charles, Erik, Logan, Ororo, Kurt, Betsy)

Scott had been busy since the party. He had made his way around the basement as well as the grounds, taking notes and planning what could happen where. He also had been devising a few ideas for training both the students and the adults, attempting to factor in personalities, abilities, level of proficiency, and general interest. After a night spent ( Read more... )

Kurt had been nothing but interested -- eager, even -- when he got the invitation. It wasn't only about... who his co-teacher(s) was were to be. At this point, frankly, he was nearly desperate to start teaching, if only to have something to do. Planning for the camping trip was underway, but that could only occupy so much time and attention.

He was a little sheepish to realize he was the first to arrive. "Ach," he muttered as he walked into the room, glancing around, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well." He let out a huff and smiled up at the room's only other occupant. "Scott! Guten tag. How long have you been here?" He meant in 1962 -- he'd not bumped into the man here before now.

Scott smiled when Kurt arrived. He hadn't gotten to know the man long in his own time, but he knew him enough to like him. "Good morning, Kurt."

"Not long," Scott replied. "I've been in this time for a few weeks now, but I've only been waiting here for a few minutes. How are you adjusting to the 1960s?"

Until everyone arrived, Scott was grateful for small talk. It got his mind off his nerves.

It was the same, the other way. Of course, Scott had been mostly grieving for poor Jean, in Kurt's future; it was nice to see him with something to do, and smiling, now.

"Well, I do wish it was a little easier for a man of my... type to walk the streets," he replied with a wry smile -- he literally hadn't left the mansion once since his arrival. "But otherwise, I find I cannot complain much. What about you?"

"Yes, unfortunately the 60s is probably the worst time period for that." Scott said, frowning. It was hard to be a mutant usually, but at least Scott looked human. He couldn't imagine what it must feel like for someone like Kurt.

"Oh I'm adjusting. The technology is a little different but I'm managing." Scott nodded to the Professor when he entered and sat next to Erik. The young leader had been surprised for Erik to bring his helmet, but made no comment and continued his conversation with Kurt. "I haven't asked when you're from in the future? I went through the portal in 2003, just before the Professor and I were to visit Magneto."

Erik walked into the room with his helmet dangling from one hand. He'd brought it because he didn't know what sort of training Scott had in mind for everyone and it might come in handy. He left it on a table near the back of the room.

"Mr Summers," he said with a nod, moving to take a seat. "Herr Wagner. Wie geht es heute Ihnen?"

It had not been one of his better mornings. He was tired, and he had not slept well the night before. Another headache.

However, he arrived with a smile and a warm greeting for both Scott and Kurt. Judging by the fact there was only three that had arrived before him, said that he wasn't late, so he took a seat beside Erik.

Why did you bring the helmet? he projected, half listening to the other two men.

Just in case, Erik thought back, glancing at Charles. He had no idea what Scott had in mind.

"You don't look well," he murmured, a hint of concern on his face that he hadn't been able to conceal.

His chin lifted slightly in understanding, and it made the world of sense.

Charles looked to his friend, paused, and then shifted in his chair. "I'm fine." he lied, if only to ease Erik's worry. "Spent a little too long working on finalizing the class schedules last night."

Time was hardly a problem for her; she showed up almost promptly - she'd spent a few moments blinking at the shoveled-out veranda...

"Scott," she smiled at him as she came in. This was... familiar, at least with him. They'd been doing it for years, in the future.

Scott smiled when Ororo entered. She always seemed to brighten up the room and put Scott at ease. Of everyone in this room, the Professor and Ororo were the two he absolutely trusted the most.

"Ororo, nice to see you again. I think we're only waiting on Logan and Betsy now." Scott replied. "How are things going for you?"

"All right, I think." She nodded greetings to the Professor and Erik (hopefully, she wouldn't get him upset, this time), smiled at Kurt, too.

"And that's good. I think it's time we started getting the students busy and interested. Having something to do can do wonders for their mood."

"Funny you should say that," Erik told Ororo with a hint of amusement. "Charles and I were just recently discussing that ourselves."

Well. Sort of. And the veranda looked great for it.

Logan waltzed in, stopped just past the door and looked at everyone there. His eyes settled on the red lensed guy talking to the blue mutant he heard called Kurt.

He glanced over to Storm, flicked his head in acknowledgement and smirked over to Scott.

"Hey, Cyclops. You really runnin' the show here today?"

Scott had been expecting some snarky comment upon Logan's arrival and was almost happy to find that he wasn't disappointed. It made things seem more normal.

"Some things never change, Wolverine." Scott smiled in return. "Now for Betsy and we can get this show on the road."

Hearing Erik's call, Scott nodded. He was eager to begin as well, and agreed with the Professor that Betsy could easily be filled in upon her arrival. The man picked up his legal pad, brought out a number of typewriter typed pieces of paper that were inside and handed them out. As soon as everyone had one, he started ( ... )

Erik looked up from the sheet he'd briefly scanned the contents of.

"I disagree with Lorna being classed as a non-student," he said mildly. "She's been taking lessons."

Not well or with any grace or respect, mind, but he was still spending hours of his life that he'd never get back on her education, so it might as well be called that.

Scott nodded and made the appropriate correction on his sheet. "Yes, I'd heard about that. Including her in the non-student list was my own error as I haven't met her yet in this time. That's settled then."

The man in glasses went back to the topic he raised before. "So, remarks on necessary classes?"

"Thank you, Scott." Charles said, taking the paper. He glanced it over, and was beyond impressed with its organization. Simply put, the professor was not at all worried that the training would be an immense success.

He glanced over to Erik as he spoke, then proceeded to look at the others.

"Not from me." he answered Scott first. "What you have listed covers the ones I feel are necessary."
