Making Up (Jubes)

Sep 24, 2011 18:59

(Post these events.)It had taken Bobby a number of hours to clean all the toilets in the mansion. Erik's continual grumpy presence hadn't helped much, either. However, now that he had encountered "motivating discipline" for himself, Bobby wasn't entirely certain that "motivating" was the correct term for it. Certainly, Bobby didn't want to go ( Read more... )

Jubes nearly groaned at the sound of someone knocking on her door because the last thing she really wanted to do right now was get up off of her bed. She was tired and just a tiny bit sore. Clearly she wasn't used to working that hard anymore and it was almost sad to her now. At one time, she had worked out every day but clearly her dedication to that had slipped.

Rolling off of her bed, she made her way over to the door. Pulling it open, Jubes paused at the sight of Bobby standing there in front of her door because she really didn't know how to react.

Part of her was a bit annoyed and the other part was perhaps a bit hurt. Or maybe she was just mainly confused because she had no idea why he had played the prank. Yes, she got why he did it to John but why to her? Weren't they supposed to be friends? Did he hate her now?

"Uh, hey." She greeted him somewhat awkwardly, tucking some hair back from her face. "What's up?"

At the door opening, Bobby swallowed nervously. He saw Jubes looking not entirely pleased to see him, but he had kinda expected that. He hoped she didn't see him looking behind her to make sure John wasn't really in there, hiding perhaps in order to blast him with flames unexpectedly ( ... )

Jubes tried to look as casual as possible but then she caught him looking over her shoulder and her expression changed to one of confusion as she glanced over her shoulder as well. She had no idea what he was looking for and so she glanced back at him with a questioning look, wondering what it was he was looking for.

Leaning against her door, she waited as he explained himself and she felt somewhat bad for how he was feeling at the moment but there were other things to discuss first.

"It was a jerk move." She replied somewhat bluntly, perhaps a bit more so than she meant for it to come out. "Sorry." She added, looking down as she shifted her weight.

"I just didn't get why you were doing it." She peeked at him through her lashes, frowning as she toyed with the ends of her sleeves. "I thought you were mad at me...us."

At her bluntness, Bobby actually flinched. That hurt more than he had prepared himself for. He bit his lip as she apologized, but it didn't make him feel any better. She was right and her unguarded words went straight to his guilty conscience.

"Well... I mean, I was." Bobby also shifted his weight and still wasn't making eye-contact. "I was mad at John, yeah, but that's a constant now. And I was... I guess... I mean I was jealous."

Bobby felt his face grow warm at that admission. Now that it was out in the open, though, he felt like he couldn't just leave it at that. "I wanted to have been with you guys. I heard why you were out there, and it sounded like fun that I missed... and then it's John and I already had to go through this once and I don't think I could again!"

That last part was maybe a tad cryptic for Jubilee, but it made perfect sense in Bobby's head.
