found out my fate the hard way [open]

With everyone's powers out, it was a bit strange in the mansion. Everyone secluding themselves off, like a fight was about to break out. For Marie's part, she was loving this. She was showing skin and smiling, like everything was alright. She was even humming as she walked through the halls, intent on grabbing something something to eat and then ( Read more... )

Jeanne-Marie didn't know what to do or what to think with her powers gone. She felt slow, sluggish, unremarkable. For so long she had wanted to be normal, but being normal felt wrong. It also didn't help that now she had no excuse for her instability. How was she supposed to deny that she might actually be crazy when the only thing that made her any different was gone?

The best thing she could think to do was bake to distract herself, but as she was searching for ingredients in the kitchen, she was only being reminded of how heavily she relied on her speed. Where and how was she supposed to get the ingredients now?

Her eyes moved to the woman who seemed a little frantic. Dipping down into the fridge, Marie pulled out some bread and meat before looking at her again. She offered a small smile.

"Need some help?" She asked, entirely too cheerful about the events going on.

"Oui, thank you." Jeanne-Marie didn't do more than glance at Marie, her face still in one of the cupboards. "Is there any flour here?"

She took a drink of her water before nodding and pointing. "That shelf up there. There should be two or three bags. We've been stocking up lately." The snow and all.

For Remy’s part, he was one of those not enjoying this turn of events. After the run in with Creed and discovering that they were both powerless; after finding that they were not the only ones; after learning all he could, which was very little at this point, the Cajun had retreated to his room. He now had a reason for that odd, empty feeling. He felt discontent, hollow, and a little lost. He had grown so use to that buzz of energy, not to mention the security that came with the knowledge that anything in his hands could become a deadly weapon ( ... )

She arrived in the kitchen and caught him half bend over. With a smirk she slid in next to him. "Well, ain't that a nice view?" Marie teased before going to grab a cup to get some water.

Normally Remy LeBeau was practically impossible to sneak up on. Having grown up on the streets then been trained at a young age to be a master thief it was important to always be aware of his surroundings, to pick up on even the slightest noise or change in ambience. So distracted by his current predicament, though, he didn’t hear Rogue enter until she was practically beside him. Starting slightly, he looked over at her and then... looked some more.

Of course he should have expected her change in wardrobe considering what was going on, but being so caught up in his own problems he hadn’t even thought of her, and being so used to seeing her covered practically from head to toe, her current look was a bit of a surprise.

“Dat’s one o’ my lines,” he replied when he recovered, a smile slowly spreading across his face. Standing up straight, Remy crossed his arms over his chest and let his eyes travel slowly and obviously over her body. “Dere’s somet’in’ different about you...”

The fact she caught him off guard was a win. The fact that he was practically staring at her all over was another win. With her back turned to him, she turned the water on and tilted her chin to listen to him. With a smirk, she turned the water back off and took a sip of her water.

She slowly walked up to him and smirked. She wasn't wearing her gloves and her free hand slowly up to his cheek. "I can touch." She replied simply, but the mere fact she could clearly meant a lot to her.
