That's quite a difference. I would guess that the first picture is 1965 or later based on the cars. That looks like a mid-60's Buick Wildcat parked facing us in the first picture.

Probably late 60s, yeah. The station wagon on the side street seemed older than that, but it may actually be a '60s Ford Fairlane.

Interesting.......it makes me wonder why they knocked down those buildings...usually buildings are knocked down to build newer buildings. Is there some history behind this? Did they just knock down the building because they wanted too...or did they burn down? If you know, let me know......I'm interested in knowing. :-D

Centralia has had an underground coal mine fire burning underneath the town since 1962-they can't put it out. (The government came in and bought up the town in the 1980s because it cost more to put out the fire than the town was worth at that point.)

Only a handful of people still live there... every time one of them moves away, the government condemns the house and bulldozes it.
