St Louis pic

This is probably the best one that I took. It's at 8th and Locust in downtown St Louis looking at the northeast corner. The picture came from a collection of photos by J R Eike taken between 1914 and 1917.

Looks to me like they did take the upper floors off the corner building. Be interesting find out why!

It was at least a four story building. My guess would be that the top couple of floors must have burned out or something in the decade or two after the picture was taken.

I wonder how many of those people walking the streets are still alive?

I would say probably none, since I don't see any children. Even if they were 20 when the picture was taken, they would've been born in the mid-1890's, so they'd be around 110 now.
