Those wagons are remarkably well-preserved! :D

Kidding, kidding - but you lined up these images really well. Is that a different wall? The windows look higher up on the newer picture. (Or maybe it's just perspective...)

I noticed that, too. I'm fairly certain that the adobe walls are erroded away, making them look shorter, or rather, the windows look higher. (Note how much taller the chimney near the center looks.)

The building that they obviously took the first picture from was right behind me. Well, what was left of it.

I am late to be commenting on this but... this is so excellent!

the elegance of the erosion-decay of the adobe is interesting on its own, and then the comparison to the then photo is completely fascinating.
