I can easily see the Doctor trying everything as a human and being obsessed with the newness in itself and also as a way to compensate? so the drugs would make sense. I read this earlier today on tumblr and was still thinking about it and that's how you know. so good. New headcanon.

This was utterly beautiful and poetic. I could see the stages and learning the Doctor goes through, with Rose right there by his side.
