anyone know anything about webcams? i'm trying to get one so that i can record some of
my classes, cause i suck at taking notes, so i need one that has good resolution and
a good mic!

You'll probably need to clear that with the professor first before you record their lectures. Some are picky about that if you don't have something saying you need it for DSS or what not.

That aside, most webcams with a built in mic ($40 and above, I'd guess) would suit the purpose fine. It would probably be a better bet to just bring in a $30 tape recorder rather then setting up a laptop and webcam every class session though, no?

I recommend logitech, since that's who made my webcam and the mic / visual is acceptable.

already cleared with the prof. and i have DSS.

and the upside of the webcam is that i can see what he puts on the bored as well as hearing it!
i think i'm going to buy http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16830108131 but from buy.com cause its like $50 rather than $60+

Not too sure it'll have enough resolution to read the board unless you're in the very front row. Those things aren't _that_ high quality.

Any way you can test it before you spend the $50 ?

not unless i can find someone who has one, to my knowledge i cant rent one, but if i buy it from fry's and i dont like it i can return it.
