Lauren, I'm sorry you're struggling with this. :-/ I don't want to give advice about the Tommy situation, because I don't feel right saying, "Just wait it out...no matter how bad it is," but I also don't want to say, "Just get back with him! Even though you want to be single for a while." But I will say that I know you'll figure out what to do soon enough. And I'm sure Tommy will understand either way...
And about careers and such, I personally think 21 is WAY too young to know for sure what you want to do. Some people know it, and some don't, and I think that's okay. Maybe you don't feel it's okay, but the thing is you are talented at SO many things (seriously!) and you have plenty of routes to choose from. And still have a little while to figure that out.
It feels really good to hear that (regarding both paragraphs). That's all I could really ask for--to know what to do for both situations. If by chance I don't figure it out, I entrust the setting up of my arranged marriage to you, dearie. (Pick a hottie!)
If you are in town, we should hang out and maybe go see Beerfest together, made by the same guys who made super troopers. That movie reminds me of you, and we should see the new one together. Plus we need to catch up. <3
Hey Lauren! I've been where you are a million times. I'm not sure if saying that helps you or not, but sometimes it's just nice to know that you're not alone. Relationships are in our DNA. We thrive on relationships, and a romantic relationship is one of the most intense relationships there are. It's normal to feel the way you feel, so don't think that something's wrong with you. And to comment on a previous comment here... I must agree that 21 is not necessarily the age you're supposed to know what to do. Too bad our society tells us we must know by the time we graduate high school at age 18 what we will do with our lives. But hey, being a mechanic isn't bad. Graf is going into it, and he loves it. Sure, you don't see too many female mechanics, but I've seen some really cool female mechanics, and I think you could be one of them! But yeah, as with what you said, you gave yourself two years to find something else, so whatever happens... that's what happens. I know you're fuzzy on the Bible, but hey, I'm a minister, it's my job to give

Lol! You are the only person I know who can actually say that it is your job to give bible quotes! I admire your passion and I hope that I can one day feel a comparable degree of passion toward my still undiscovered "calling."
