You didn't get the Dig TM on Route 4? That was the only move that allowed me to train up Sandile, since it was so weak in comparison to everything. Excadril is supposed to be better, but at this point, you might as well stick with Krokorok since it would take too long to find a Drillbur.

I carried Sawk until around the sixth gym, when I dropped him and rearranged my team. He was a tremendous help, though.

Nothing wrong with using legendaries. Victini has enough weaknesses, he may not even be that overpowering anyway.

There's a world of difference between version exclusives like Palkia or Reshiram, and the likes of Victini, Zapdos and Heatran.
