Mary Poppins: The Broadway Musical was not so great. It would have been one thing if they'd just taken the movie and turned it verbatim into a musical: We wouldn't have been surprised by anything, and it wouldn't have been anything new, but it still would have been entertaining. Yeah, don't waste your money (especially since Mary Poppins doesn't have cheap tickets). See something else instead.

It was apparently different in London. I think the down-your-throat dysfunctional family crap wasn't there. They apparently wanted to flesh out Mr. and Mrs. Banks' characters more in the Broadway version. But the stupid production numbers were still in it in London, so your sister is officially no longer a theatre connoisseur.
