We loaded up on lemon-flavored water. (Tastes like lemonade, but low in calories!) It's kind of expensive though. Propel, which actually has about 40 calories per bottle, is $4.79 for a six-pack ($.80 each). Fruit2O doesn't taste as good, but it's only $2.99 per six-pack ($.50 each), and it has zero calories. For comparison, our cheap bottled spring water is $1.99 per six-pack ($.33 each).

Recently I discovered that the six-packs of spring water are $1.99, while a 24-pack is $7.99. That means the six-packs are actually a few cents cheaper when you buy the same amount. Go figure!

I'm giving up soda. I've done it before, so I am certain I can do it again. And I love ice tea, so that makes it much easier.

Wow, that makes four people I know who are giving up soda for New Year's, or five if you count Amanda (but I'm not sure if she gave it up for New Year's). In addition to Ash, my mother and John Blaylock also gave it up.
